How to discard bulky wastes
While your stays in Chile, you’d need to discard/recycle some bulky wastes at some point, such as broken suitcase, some home appliances you brought from your home country, etc.
Though the rules can vary depending on each building, there are some places that they let residents to discard small-medium recyclable wastes inside the buildings.
Please ask your reception or building management company.
In case you cannot discard the wastes in your building, you’ll have to contact your local municipality to ask for pickups.
Below you can check the ways to request bulky wastes pickups in each area where we principally lease apartments.:
–Las Condes
Since the pickups are paid services in Las Condes, you have to request them via the municipality’s website (https://www2.lascondes.cl/atencion-al-vecino/) or phone call (22950 7941 / 22950 7940).
However, if you’re trying to discard home appliances or furniture in good condition, you can bring them to “Punto Verde” in the commune.
For details, please check https://www2.lascondes.cl/las-condes-verde/reciclaje/punto-verde/
–Vitacura
Please request free pickups (Retiro de escombros gratuitos) via the municipality’s website: https://une.vitacura.cl/
–Lo Barnechea
Once a week, municipal trucks make a round to pick up bulky wastes, so you may leave them at the same place where you leave normal garbage.
On the municipality’s website (https://lobarnechea.cl/vecinos/aseo-y-ornato/recoleccion-de-basura/), you can check the tracks’ pick-up map.
Please check your pick-up area and schedule.
*In any commune, please make sure to follow the local government’s instructions to discard bulky wastes. For details, please contact your municipality.
